MODELLING THE PENETRATION OF A HARD STRIKER INTO A CONCRETE OBSTACLE
Abstract
The paper presents constitutive equations for modeling dynamic deformation and failure of concrete and hard rocks formulated in the context of a single-phase continuum where the resistance of the continuum depends on the type of the stressed state (a varying-resistance medium).
The state of failure is reached when the ultimate damage level is accumulated in the material. The characteristics of the process of penetration of hard strikers into solid concrete and marble are examined. The overload values and maximum penetration depth values are compared with the experimental data and empirical relations.
