RECONSTRUCTION OF THE HARDENING CURVE OF A MATERIAL BASED ON THE RESULTS OF COMPRESSION EXPERIMENTS
Abstract
A computational-experimental methodology is presented for reconstructing the hardening curve of low-hardness metals which cannot be tested in tension. The methodology is based on identifying the hardening curve parameters using a primary compression diagram. The parameters of the curve are determined from the solution of the problem of minimization of the mean quadratic deviation of modeling values from experimental values of the compression diagram. The methodology is verified using experimental data for M1 copper. The hardening curve for indium – a low-hardness metal – has been reconstructed.
